Sure seems like a awful lot of slack noise from the drive shaft when moving forward and backwards from a stop position for a $9000+ ATV is this just the norm for a high powered outy 800?

Yeah, it is the norm. These machines make some of the strangest noises, especially from the clutch. It is a completely different setup than a King Quad.

Funny thing, I just installed the updated snorkel kit which relocates the belt intake to under the dash. You should hear the noises now. I couldn't figure out what the heck was making all the racket under the front at idle. It was the intake tube now transfering the sound up to right in front of me. Sounded like the thing was falling apart. But it is just the belt setup. Part of the noise is from the one way bearing which is also completely different than on a King Quad.

Also have heard of a bolt that holds the yoke to the shaft, will check this out asap.

Yeah, the yoke bolt is known to become loose. Also keep on top of greasing the drive shafts.

If so i didn't see it in the owners manual.
Thanks...

Yes... There is one on the front and the two on the rear. They have to be turned just right to get the fitting in (especially the front one) but they will go. The front rear joint is almost dry after every ride!!! It is also wise to use a marine or green grease on them.

I've been useing the purple Ski Doo XP grease, for me it is just easier to keep one gun loaded for the sleds and four wheelers. I,ve yet to find any of my fitting dry. I usually hit all 11 zerks every other ride.

Due to the odd angles needed to get to some of them, I usually use a needle. But the regular old end does fit on mine.

I got the new drive shaft in and been having a bugger of a time getting ANY of my zerks to take grease. I'll get a needle adapter and try that.
