I have a 07 Vinson and iam geting tired of replacing the fan. It's the third time now and I want to put it in a switch. I don't know if there is a kit or do I have to do it myself. I really have no idea any help would be great.

I've never done a vinson but it should be the same as the king quad which was the same as my prowler.

There are 2 wires on the thermo coupler in the radiator, just tap into each wire and run them to a toggle switch.

i know this is a little late, but i had my fan go out on my vinson as well. and just so happened my wifes went out the very next weekend.

well my solution to the OEM fan was a universal 9" high flow cfm fan. then i made a custom fan shroud out of aluminum to bolt it all together. so far it's held up great for a $30 fan!

as for the switch, all you should have to do is put the switch on to cut the current to one of the wires....... power or ground it shouldn't matter. are you wanting to manually turn it on and off, or just turn it off when you go into water? if your wanting to just turn it off when going into water, all you have to do is put the switch in line with one of the wires. leave it of when you want it to work with the oem temp sensor, and turn it off to cut the signal to the wire so it can't make a connection to turn on.

I just cut my stock wires coming from the fan and grounded one and ran the other one to the battery. Is that fine to do like will my overheating light still come on. I plan on just keeping it on all the time untill I go through mud or watter.

it will make your fan run all the time if you hook it right to the battery, even with the key off. you'll need to put it on some kind of switch to cut the current, PLUS if you wire to the batt with a switch you'll HAVE TO remember to turn it on too.

instead of the batt, maybe look into splicing it into the key switch at some point in the harness. that way when you turn the key on the fan comes on (if you want it powered all the time).

just some thoughts.

no prob. i wired up a brute force that way (via request of the owner) so now every time his key turns on, his fan comes on and stays on. i installed a 10amp inline fuse as well "just in case" type thing. he likes it, and hasn't failed him yet. BUT he also stays out of deep water and mud as well. if he would have been one that tests out how deep some water holes are, i'd have put a toggle switch in between his key switch and the fan.
