Leave Arch View @ 8:30 to caravan to the mouth of Kane Creek at the parking lot. We start riding there about 9:30ish. We’ll travel gravel roads much of the way, but cross streams, traverse rocky ledges, and follow sandy trails, too. We’ll stop at the “birthing rock” and have lunch at the mysterious catacombs where we’ll have lunch while exploring on foot. The view from Hurrah Pass is unexcelled for magnificence. We’ll stop at a hidden arch for a short mind journey into the past. UTV’s are okay.

We skirt a lot of terrain with slickrock on one side and brushy desert on the other. We’ll pass the remains of an old movie set. One hill is challenging and two are intermediate. UTV’s are okay.

Start Arch View @ 9:00. We travel west of the dry camp area (not sure yet which route) towards the Monitor/Merrimac buttes. We will take some scary routes although probably not needing any winching. We’ll zig-zag around that area and to the north. We’ll travel in some deep canyons, rocky hills, sand, and slickrock. This is NOT for newbies, only experienced riders. No double riders on single ATV’s, or UTV’s.

Yama700 I'm seriously thinking that the dates should change. The main reason is 3 fold.
1.The Car show isn't that big a draw for the people that attend the Nyroc Moab event. It was at first but every year people are more interested in doing the trails and are getting back late from the rides as well as being very tired of riding all day long. And this last year I think you could of counted on one hand the people that went in Saturday night for the big main street car show.
2.The car show books the rooms and RV spaces way in advance and every year we are finding that rooms and RV spaces are getting harder and harder to book. The first Monday after the car show the room rates fall 40% and rooms and RV's spaces are no longer a problem. Plenty of accommodations for everyone that wants to attend the Moab 2010 ride.
3.The weather has really changed over the last 2 years, and we are seeing some not very nice days because of it. The wind being not accommodating as well as it was really cold 4 days out of the two week period.
I don't think it would be a problem for anyone cancelling there reservations if they have already made them. The Arch View is very flexible that way as most of the major motel chains.
I'm thinking April 26th thru May 9th this year. If the car show was a really a big deal to anyone they still could try and book a place to stay on the 24th and 25th.
After anyone that reads my suggestions and can think of a better arrangement then I would love to hear there suggestions. But remember don't just think of yourself but try to think of everyone as a whole. Some people have come to me suggesting that the ride should accommodate them and not thinking about the group as a whole. With two weeks of riding my thoughts are that it should really give everyone and everyone an avenue to make the ride.

Your reasoning makes perfect sense and the car show wasn't a big deal to my group....although people watching was fun.
I'm sure whatever dates you come up with will work fine, as long as people have plenty of time to coordinate things.

I like the idea, besides the Nyroc group is becoming a spectacle in it's self.
I don't come to Moab see red Vetts, I come to see redrock.
