I searched and didn't find what I was looking for,..

There is someone here in town that machines sheaves for all types of atv's and he can machine mine for my 660 so I will have better low end while still maintaining a somewhat good top end. What is everyone running for an aftermarket sheave compared to getting one machined?

I am only running 26" mud lites and don't think I will run a CDI unless I can test one before buying, and have read that a sheave would be my better choice.

Thanks,

I believe all Sheaves are Machined whether you have one machined by someone you know or buy one
I bought a couple from trinity and they have all the casting marks of a factory Yamaha Part the difference is the machining.

Second point The sheave doesn't do anything to bottom end power at least from all I have researched and talking to many pros in the industry and that is the basics of what they say. However, I installed one yesturday on my neighbors Rhino 700 and it added 6 mph to the top end
I rode a second twin machine 2 minutes later and if it goes to the same top end it will gain 8 mph
But to get the top end you may have to get a box to raise the Rev Limits as both of these machines have the Dynatek Boxes

Just my .02

MudchuckR, put the CDI box in it is worth the money. Lowend you could do a clutch kit. I run the trinity clutch sheave and has worked for me the only reason I went with the Trinity sheave I got it for $100 I was going to get a 660 grizzly one for around $120?

I did the reverse limiter mod and am going to wait on the CDI till next month.

As for the sheave machining, per Coop45, I see by the way he machined his, that the left over material at the bottom acts like the 2mm spacer mod per the amount of machining that is being done. Still have lots of time yet, attempting to do my own rear cage and seats at the moments as well.

I have a Grizzly's sheave installed on mine now for 5000 miles. Low end is compromised very little while running 26" tires and not even noticeable with the 25" Bajacross.

My top speed with the grizzly sheave/stock CDI...48mph Top speed w/ grizzly sheave/Hunter Tri-Fire CDI...56 (ran out of road)

What you reckon would happen if I was to install those greaseless rollers on the greasly sheave?

Hea guys, I have a mod that I do to the moveable sheave that lowers the take off ratio by 20 %, and wont hurt top end, in fact I have a second mod that will give you 49mph with the stock rev box on the 700 Rhino's it works on Rhinos and Grizzly's

Thanks

See ya Coop45
No-Toil air filter,Coop Mod4 no shims!(30% lower ratio), no machined secondary and 45mph low range((any more than that it will rub the stock suport cage)) 100 mph high range (cant use the high range ratio, too tall!) brown EPI wet springs (thanks to Ruff Cut) EPI yellow spring, 23.5 gram rollers (total weight) and a few other top secret mods I can"t disclose. hehe!
