(4) Complete drop in roller assemblies. 19.5g inserts
(1) Dalton orange secondary clutch spring.

Review will include (1) INSPECTION (2) INSTALL (3) TEST DRIVE

INSPECTION REPORT

Inspection of components was performed and results are listed below.

Package list as DSK 750 HAC

Kit show's orange spring and two packs of rollers and decal.

Directions are very easy to read and understand

Closer view of instructions and how to install rollers to Dalton Spec's

The black sleeves are the 19.5g weights and the silver sleeves are the 17.5g weights.

The black 19.5g weights with plastic roller weight a total of 25.1g

The silver 17.5 weights with plastic roller weight a total of 23.4g

Here is where the big test for quality came into play, checking for any roller that was way out of specs. What I found, most of the rollers were dead on in averages. Being 0.5g or 1.0g out of specs would not be good quality control. The Dalton rollers were with in specs and prove that they have a very high standard of quality control.

All rollers show that all steel inserts were even on both sides and surfaces were smooth and no sharp edges. Having the steel inserts in the plastic roller not even on both sides would cause damage to clutch housings. Dalton production standard's are second to none.
*The outside diameter of the Dalton rollers measure 30mm*

In this Dalton kit the spring is orange. Compared to the stock spring this spring is much harder to compress. By all appearances the spring showed no abnormal signs of manufacture

Compared to the stock spring, the Dalton spring is much harder to compress and you can see the tab is offset more than the stock for more spring load.

INSTALL REPORT

After removing secondary clutch you will need to remove the special nut that holds the spring and cap in place. This part of the install will not go very smoothly if you don't have the proper tools. If you don't have the special tools I recommend very highly that you take this down to your Suzuki Dealer and have them install. Many dealers will charge a half hour rate or less for this service and it's worth every penny if you damage a $400 clutch.

If you have the proper tools remove the lock nut and use your spring compression tool to remove the OEM spring and install the orange spring.

You must load the spring in a counter clockwise direction, then reinstall nut and torque to spec's.

Spring installed.

After removing front clutch, place on flat surface. This side up.

Then remove center part and OEM rollers. Then clean surface area of dirt and dust before installing Dalton rollers.

NOTE: It is very important that roller weights are installed "equal and opposite". A roller weight should always have an equal mass at 180 degrees opposite. See picture above for proper placement. Black 19.5g weights......White/Silver 17.5g weights.

TEST DRIVE REPORT

Test driving the King Quad with this Dalton kit was pure joy. A very noticeable improvement on the bottom end was achieved. This kit works very well at higher elevations. My trails that I ride are between 4000 ft to 10,000 ft. My King Quad has very heavy duty 6 ply tires, but still have 25" tires. One has to understand that engines loose 3% of their power for every 1000 ft in elevation. So at 8000 feet you have lost 24% of your actual power from sea level. This kit gives you much of that loss back at the wheels.

I can't report on larger tires, but the kit states this kit is intended for the 29.5 mud tires at sea level elevations,...and any tires at high elevations.

Testing showed that at higher elevations the kit really flattens out the steep grades. You will notice your engine RPM will be a little higher with this kit, and your fuel mileage will drop approximate 20%. Your top end speed will suffer a little, top speed with this kit will be between 60 and 65 MPH. You will also notice that the orange spring you installed will give a tighter bite on the belt and less belt slip. The orange spring will give a much improved back shift and much improved engine braking over all RPM ranges.

Things to consider about a clutch kit for Bigger Tires. (Something to Chew On)

It has been experimentally determined that the total Tire Resistance Drag is nearly proportional to the weight of the vehicle, and is slightly affected by vehicle speed. It is also affected by the air pressure in the tires and the temperature of the tires.

Tire Resistance Drag is generally around 1.2% to 1.4% of total vehicle weight at 30 mph. 700 pounds is equal to aprox 8.4 pounds to 9.8 pounds.

For acceleration benefits lose the weight off the wheels and tires. For a quick conversion, every pound of wheel weight is worth 2.5 lbs of vehicle weight. So if you drop 5 lbs from every wheel that's 20 lbs by 2.5 equals losing 50 lbs off the chassis.

Good racers rule of thumb I believe is that for every 10 lbs you loose is like 1 free horsepower.

You can see that the heavy tires create more weight, the more weight the acceleration suffers, with the Dalton Kits, you will be improving your acceleration.
