got the itch that needed scratched, traded in my 450 King for a new camo power steering KING, put ITP SS112 wheels and 26" mudlite xl tires, my god, is all I can say, test drove it at the steelers and it seemed more snappy than my 450,,,at home took it to the hills and found out that the POWER DIFFERENCE is huge, wheels up with a simple handle bar pull, need to have better throttle control on up hill rocky areas and the power steering is much faster steering that the 450. The skid plates fit but the A-ARMS are totally new and the suspension seems to be sprung wider and higher, the seat has way more padding and is significantly more comfortable, the main reason I bought it was to get a camo model with the power steering the HUGE power increase is a bonus I didnt expect, the ground clearance with the 26" tires is at least 3" higher that the 450 all in all it was a great decision to upgrade and WORTH THE EXTRA $$ will update over time. THE KING RULZ

Congrats man! I wouldn't mind test riding them 500's, the sound to be awesome!

Glad to hear your happy.. welcome to the forum.!

Largerboy, I think maybe if you get one for a 450, and just change the cc's to 500 on the options, I think you might be good. I dont know though, the firmware may be different.

2jacks. Well we are well into the breakin of this beauty, rides like a dream, miss the choke and the lack of recoil starter makes me shiver but I usually ride with at least one other guy, there is no doubt about the power increase, I CANT BELIEVE the difference. Belt squeeeeel once, just like the 450, turns in the woods like a champ, thats what I like he best, in and out of trees without a kickin your but and thats with the bigger 26"ers ITP's on it. If I had to choose between it and my old 450 I would take the 500 everytime, wonder if they will discontiue the 450 engine given that the 500 is just a punched out 450? This climbs hills like a raped ape,,,,see you all down at the RAC land soon!

Replaced my Eiger with a 500 in October, got well over 200 miles and I love this thing. Changed the plug to Iridium and put the Arctic Cat 0-40W synthetic oil in. It has started down to -15 with no problems, but I also installed some heaters on the engine just in case.

I too just bought one. A black limited. I had a Honda Rubicon for the last five years. Boy what a difference. I have about 60 miles on it so far. I am not sure what the correct break in protocol is. I have not kept it at any steady speed for very long, go up to 30-35 then back down to 20. I have punched it a couple of times up to 40 but just up and back down. I really like it. What to you guys who have more miles think about my break in so far. How long should I leave the break in oil in.

Thanks, that sounds good. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. It's good to finally see a 500 thread here. There is a lot of 700 750 talk. Hopefully there will be a lot more 500 talk. It is probably not that much different from the bigger King. I want a good solid bumper. That front end is all plastic. But so far I have not seen any specifically for the 500.

I just read a article lastnight in the All-Terrain Magazine about the 500. They put it up against the Can-Am 500 and I was surprised at the outcome. They liked the Zooki alot more than the Can-Am , they say they zooki had ALOT more torque than than V-Twin and it took everything the Can had to catch up to it but then thats where the twin finally showed up and past the zook. They say if your lookinng for a trail machine that the zooki was it, the downfall of the zook was the front suspension and the outty had a better ride. I really didnt think that the single 500 could take the V-Twin 500 off the line and hold its ground for that long. Sounds like Suzukis got another winner on its hands!

i think (but am not 100% sure) that the 450 pipes will fit the 500. still not alot to choose from though. and tire opinions will be all over the place. everybody has a preference. i am assuming you want a trail/mud tire from what you said in your first post (welcome to nyroc ) i would check out the zillas, reptiles(radial tire), swamp lites, grim reapers(radial) spartucus(radial), etc. LOTS to choose from
