Hey guys, Im new to the forums here and just wanted to take a second to commend all you on your participation. I have been reading on here for about a month prior to signing up today and the number of threads for King Quads as compared to other models is laughable.

Next, I just want to ask any of you that may know, What makes Suzuki choose the single cylinder for their engine design. I have an 09' 750 and that just seemed odd until I rode it. It runs great but why not use the v-twin design? Was it for long term dependablity or possibly emissions? Just curious?

A single is lighter in weight than an equal displacement twin and the cylinder can be canted forward to help keep the center of gravity low. That's what the model introduction info said.
The KQ is in fact one of the very most stable big quads.

Ergonomics are better with a single too. Sit on the seat of a machine with a V-twin, then sit on the Grizz' or the KQ. You will see.

Typically a single will spin up faster and rev higher than a twin. This is why a twin will take a single off the line for a short distance then the single will catch it and leave it behind with a higher rate of acceleration and top end speed.

I thought that the single has the best power in the middle and that the twins are better off the line and then again at the top end.
