Looks like the new 2009 Teryx is fuel injected after all! Just to be clear, the certification for the 2009 model with a carburetor was out a few months ago. But as of today, they are now listing it as SFI (sequential MFI) on CARB. In addition, looks like there is a new model coming out called a Sport. So you'll have the base 4x4, the LE, the Sport, and the Outdoors models to choose from.
The dealer show is in about 2 1/2 weeks so more info should be available very soon!

I hear you. Either it was their game all along to trick the people into thinking it would be carbed or they legit got the bugs worked out and decided to offer it early. We will never know.
Now the big question is what is a Sport? Their answer to a RZR S? It has the same hp as the other models, which is about .4 more than the carb version.

i am not to concerned about the fuel injection...its what the sport will be that will drive me crazy...

hopefully they got rid of the low speed retard,which the EFI helped alot on the brute, changed the clutching to alow some over drive and lightened it up.. they dont have to do much to pass the rzr, that 800 is nothing special, and the 750 is heavily detuned..

All of the now 2009 info is now listed on the Kawi website. All models now have EFI, new improved intake and exhausts for the CVT, a new airbox, a belt slip warning light along with timing retard to prevent belt damage, new shock settings and a stabilizer bar, battery and electric parts located higher farther out of the way of water and mud, all models now get a tilting bed as well as the digital dash complete now with a fuel guage. The LE model only comes in two new colors, Metallic Titanium and Candy Thunder Blue. The base model is only available in red. There are also 2 new models in the lineup, the Sport and Monster Energy Sport. Both have aluminum wheels, fully adjustable shocks front and rear, and lime green or black plastics.

I doubt it. They are not really the same type of machine IMHO. The sport gets the adjustable shocks in the front in addition to the standard rear adjustable shocks but the machine is still taller and wider than the RZR. So I can't see it being in the same league. Not knocking it at all as it is still a nice machine. Just don't think they are comparable. The Teryx is more like a Rhino on steroids.

Need to read this first ride report from the guy that rode the 09 at the recent dealer show......said with the new EFI and ignition timing, acceleration now felt on par with the RZR in the second paragraph.....

Dealers here are saying the Sport LE lime green unit is limited, only one per dealer per '09.
i like that one the most but also like the Monster Energy Sport b/c of the lime green accents, then later just get the lime green plastics when they come more available.
