All RZRs built on or before Sept 2, 2008 will be eligible to receive an updated air filter assembly. In addition, Polaris will be extending out of warranty coverage for 18 months past the standard 6 month warranty for dirt ingestion related engine issues.
You should receive a letter in the mail concerning this update. But if you should happen to not get one, I would ask your dealer as this campaign will expire on January 31, 2009. The bulletin reference number is R-08-09-01.

I received the letter, but it only said a "element" and did not mention anything of extended warranty or filter assembly. WAZ_UP?

The warranty part of the campaign must just be dealer info. But it does exist per the bulletin the dealer should have on file.

I got my filter on Friday, all it was is a paper filter with a little piece of foam, my uni-filter is better than this piece of crap. Looks just as I expected a band-aid and a "see we fixed it" from Polaris, I am wondering if all are to get this same deal?

i was at the dealer the other day and they asked if i got the new filter i said yes but it is in the garage . they said that was fine as long as i had it that is ok . so i asked "why" he said that polaris will extend engine warranty an extra year as far as the engine failing due to dusting only though

I got the supposed upgrade for my RZR a while back but it did nothing to solve the dust problem. I ended up getting a Ranger XP airbox modified to bolt up on the RZR and have never had another problem. Last time I knew they were available on E-bay.

Well, the old RZR is in the shop for a top end job! Go figure, I do all the maintenence myself and I'm quite picky and low and behold..I knew it would happen as every time I rode the RZR I replaced the filter with a fresh UNI filter and there was always silting in the throat. I knew this day would come. The dealer said 37% oil usage getting by the rings. I'm making some serious changes to the air intake system and I guarntee it will no have this problem again. At least Polaris is standing behind the engine, (I Hope).

Well, the RZR is repaired, the weather is to crappy here so I won't pick it up until next weekend. I only owe $190.00 and the repaired my Cv joints too. So thanks Polaris, I will make sure that dirt does not get in the engine no more. I know Polaris has fixed their problem and I feel good about them stepping up and taking care of the problem. Now Suzuki on the other hand and their front end twitchy, that's another problem...Buy American!!!Maybe/Maybe--not..

Well, I got my RZR back yesterday, Wow, it runs great. Jorgnson's in Richfield did the warranty, they were great! Now I still need to make sure this doesn't happen again. I bought a Donladson severe duty filtration system, they use them on skidsteers and forklifts. They have a dual filtration system like the UMP. Will see!!!

Hello everyone,
I took some time a way from the Internet but I a was way from NyROC too long. I'm glad to be back. WOW! this story sounds all to familiar. Remember the King's air filter problem? I do. It cost me money because of a bad air filter design. So I wish all the best to the RZR owners.
I still think the RZR is the hottest side by side going!
