Hey All,
I'm debating getting a RZR so me and my young son can ride together (He is 6). We ride in the mountains of Arizona- a lot of steep incline with rocks/ off camber / and trail riding(mostly trail riding)
Will the RZR go anywhere a 4wd quad will go? I want to keep him safe and am worried about rollovers. Currently, he rides in front of me on my Prairie. I would definitely get harness/doors.
Thanks for your feedback.
Chris

I would personally look at the S series as it's wider.
We are currently on vacation in Marysvale UT and there are RZR's everywhere. They do go where atv's can go but have heard of many of the 50 inch wide RZR's flopping on there sides.
If width is not an issue on your trail go wider,
We were on a trail yesterday that had some pretty good leans and even in my prowler I wondered a couple of times

Triple J,
Can the RZR turn as tight a U turn (like found on a switchback)as a utility quad? Maybe you can find an oppertunity to video two out there from behind the front lines in UT, making such a turn.
Thanks, Nuck

The switchbacks we've been on so far are plenty wide and even the Prowler can go around with room to spare. Matter of fact you very often meet a truck along the way and there is room to go around each other.
I know they go on the restricted trails out here as well with the RZR so I'd think the RZR can make the turn pretty well.
I'll try to get some video if I come across one on the restricted 50 inch trails.

I cannot speak about trail restrictions, but I can tell you this. The RZR will go anywhere you can take a utility quad. With your son it would be much safer to put him in the RZR with you and get some good seatbelts. You will go anywhere you want.

I've seen and experianced a Rhino and RZR go just about everywhere the quads go, just some clearance issues on top with roll cages.

I ride a lot with our RZR, I also have a Yamaha Grizz 700, I ride out of Marysvale, Utah. There are some trails that the RZR has no business on. The turns are to tight and the clearence not enough. But with that said, I have been in some real hairy spots and I have found that the average rider just wants to have a thrilling ride and not beat their machine to death and get back to enjoy a cool beverage. I would take the RZR and enjoy it, but keeping in mind they have some disadvantages, buy the RZR S and stay off the 50" trails you'll enjoy life just as well. My 2 cents worth..

We have ridden the most difficult trail on the Paiute Trail system and there was a Rzr with us. The only problem they had was high center one time and they thoroughly enjoyed the ride. That alone convinced us to get a Rzr and will be at Marysvale in Oct to ride the trails. The Rzr will be very safe for you and your boy and he will enjoy the ride much better, just get a 5 point seat belt for him.

I'm not a Polaris Person but they seem to work well in the rocks. The only problem I see with them is the Polaris part.
