I had the same problem with my 07 rincon about a month ago. I thought it was the sensor on the back of the air box but when I got it back from the dealer and already had it home I noticed they did not replace that on so I'm not sure which one it is. It is a common problem seeing how my friend had the same problem a few months before I did on his 07 rincon. Try calling a dealer and try asking them which on it is, and if they say they cant say without looking at it theyre full of crap theyre just trying to turn a easy dime on you. I will call my dealer and ask which one they replaced on mine and get back with you ASAP. It may be as simple as cleaning a sensor with some carb cleaner.

I have a 2007 Rincon and it started the same problem of high idle. I just wondered if anyone found out anything regarding this problem?

Hello..we are in The joliet area in illinois,my brothers rincon started doing this last night with the high Idle Trick: This was suggested-Good Luck. : )Scooter 06KQ700 (Way Faster Than the Rincon- lol)The start sequence on the EFI control is with the Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) wide open. The upon startup, the valve closes down to a temperature and barometric pressure controlled opening that causes the engine to idle properly at ~1K RPM.

When this valve sticks open, the engine goes into super fast idle, probably in the vicinity of 2500 RPM. It won't shift at this engine speed. Just a pain. You have to start it in gear. This wouldn't be good on monster downhills. But with due caution, you can probably ride it back to the house, truck, etc.

It's not very hard to fix, just requires a "tamper proof" torx driver to remove the screws. It's located on top of the EFI throttle body just above the throttle control. There is a small threaded shaft (~1.5 x 0.5 mm), protruding from a small, permanent magnet stepping motor. The shaft drives the valve drum open (up) or closed (down). A pin in the valve body keeps the drum (and nut) from rotating. It appears that dust accumulates in the lubricant near the top of the threaded shaft, the buildup eventually locking the shaft in the nut. I soaked both components in WD-40 and blew them dry, and clean, with a blast of air. The nut is brass and probably doesn't need any lubricant... but I lubed it anyway with a non-evaporating light grease. Re-assemble, and you are done...Good Luck, hope this Helps. Scooter : )

I just came in the house from pulling the IAC valve and cleaning it with some brake cleaner and blowing it out with compressed air. BAM. All fixed for $0.00. Thanks to Scooter for reading the threads to me while I was in the garage freaking out.

(His KQ can't handle water like the Rincon)

I just got around to pulling my IAC valve out of my 2007 Rincon. I cleaned it and lubricated it with WD-40 and it still did not fix it from idling to fast. I guess I will have to buy a new one. I have a question about the long gap on the side of the IAC valve. Does the long gap go towards the right hand side of the machine stradling the small pin in the throttle body?

Yes the long slot rides over the pin. It is the only way to seat the IAC back in the proper position. I have had good luck cleaning mine with just some brake cleaner, the using compressed air to dry it. Then a shot of WD-40. I have had to do it twice now over the last few weeks, but it has been colder than normal here. www.ronayers.com lists the replacement assembly as 16430-HP6-A01 for $40.44. They are usually a good reference price. I am getting one just to have a spare in my toolkit, so I can swap it out fast if I want. Good luck.

Isn't the '05 carbureted? If it is, then it would be another problem. If not, it might be the issue.
