Hello any help would be greatly appeciated I have a 2003 and it idles great goes in to all gears no problem but will not rev up at all I can pin the throttle and the rpms do not change at all it is Carb not efi It has fresh gas and the carb does not appear to be dirty I bought this not running and when I got it running this is what it does Any help would be great any suggestions would help as well Thanks in advance

Is the throttle cable broke on the carb side ??

Can you see if the butterfly is actually opening? you may have a busted throttle plate.

I am going to rip the carb off tomorrow and inspect it all The previous owner took it to a dealer and they told him the cam was bad and needs to be replaced Now correct me if I am wrong but any time I have come across a bad cam it would pop and spit through the carb and back fire or not run worth a crap at all but this thing idles excellent there is no noise from the cam chain and it appears that the valves are working properly

just as an added not there is no signs that it has ever been apart ie no signs of tool marks on any thing and the previous owner said they wrote the estimate up with out him even taking it off the truck

Before you rip the carb off, remove the top and see if the diaphram piston is stuck. Be careful with those
screws, they are soft.

For any one that may be interested it turns out it was the intake lob on the cam it was just about perfectly round when I pulled it out Thanks for the help

When you were diagnosing the problem did you happen to notice if your slide was moving in the carb when you tried to rev it? I have a similar problem with an 04 but i just don't know if the slide should be moving or if it actually has to rev up more in order for some venturi vacuum to open the slide.
