I was wondering if anyone out there had any idea why my 2002 Grizzly 660 Diff Lock light all of a sudden started flashing and my machine won't turn over. No matter what position I have the Diff Lock or 2WD/4WD buttons it won't quit flashing. I can hear it going in and out of 4WD. I have plenty of battery and everything lights up but I got nothing when I hit the starter button???? It was fine the last time I started it. I saw another post that suggested the CDI? If anyone has a clue what may be going on I could really use the help. I am going to try a new battery. Thanks All

Thanks everyone, The connections were bad and the battery week. She's running great again but I still don't get why the thing won't fire or start when it gets cold (below Freezing)I know it's not fuel injected but why is that? Everyone I talked to say's, that's just the way they are. It's Frustrating because I would like to take it Ice Fishing but I don't dare.

Glad you got it figured out.

As far as the starting what weight of oil are you running? Also does it sit inside or outside? Are you turning the fuel off at the end of the day?

It is parked inside my Garage...I am not sure of the oil weight I believe it's 5W30. It's a good point you have Tripple J, the last time I had it changed was done by a shop in Osseo MN called Hiennens. They could have put in 10W30. I will make sure it's gets 5W30 here next. As far as shutting off the fuel, I haven't done that...not sure why, I just haven't??? Could that be related???

The gas could be draining down causing a flooding issue but not likely being inside.

Have you made sure the choke cable is moving properly and the full distance? The thicker oil in our cold climates could be causing it to turn over slower than normal causing some minor flooding as well.

I always run 0W40 in my machines and have good luck starting all winter long.

Thanks Triple J,

The choke cable is working fine and goes up and down all the way. I agree with you on the oil, that would definately help. I am sure they put in Yamalube(synthetic?)which is probably a standard weight?? With all the talk about how cold blooded these are I wonder if it's a carb jetting issue. Sometimes it will almost fire but it simply won't start unless it get's above freezing. It starts like a dream when it's warm?
