Renegade - Alumatech Rear Differential Guardby topgun, 2007-09-15For some reason, Ricochett has not made a protector for the rear differential or outer CV boots in the rear. Alumatech has stepped up the plate on this. Made from a full 3/16" aluminum, they match the Ricochett skids nicely with the exception of them not being coated. Outer protectors are to be available very soon and I will update this tip when that happens. Contact info: Mike @ 973-216-6077 Email: formula419bt@netscape.net BRP now also offers a similar protector but they are 2 pc and only 1/8" thick. Tools needed: 10mm socket and wrench, torque wrench. Here is the Alumatech differential guard. Very high quality and a nice job on the welding. ![]() Simply remove the 4 protector bolts and nuts and remove the factory guard. ![]() Take the Alumatech guard and lightly spread the front open to ease the install over the large mounting bolts. There are holes in the guard to clear these, same as the stock guard. Slide on the new Alumatech guard and replace the 4 bolts and nuts. Torque to 142 inch lbs. Here is the finished product. ![]() In this view, you can see the drain holes. ![]() A very nice product! Look for the outer install as soon as they are available. ![]() |
